Q. How do I register my child for camp?
A. Go to the ‘Camp Registration’ page, which will take you to our Eventbrite registration page. Click on the camp you are looking to register for. From there, you can access an online registration form to fill out for each child. Alternatively, download and print a paper registration form, mailing a form for each child to our registrar, Carrie Thornley, at PO BOX 58, Springfield ON, N0L 2J0. Use the contact us form if you need us to mail you a paper registration form.
Q. How do I pay for my child to go to camp?
A. When filling out the online registration form, you can choose to pay online through Eventbrite’s payment processing or through cash or cheque. Whether registering online or through a hard copy form, we encourage you to pay ahead of the camp weekend, although paying upon arrival is an option.
Q. Is there assistance available to help with paying for camp?
A. Yes. We can provide confidential assistance with some or all of the fee.
Q. How does online registration work if I am registering campers going to different camps?
A. Go to the separate page for each camp on Eventbrite. If paying online, payment will need to be completed separately for each camp.
Q. Is there a registration deadline?
A. Yes. Registration closes 1 week before each camp.
Q. What grade does my child need to be in to qualify for camp?
A. Campers qualify for camp based on grades completed in June.
Q. Can my child join more than one camp?
A. Yes, depending on the grade completed in June. There is an overlap grade between the camps, allowing campers to join two camps those years.
Q. How many campers can be at each camp?
A. Each camp can have up to 44 campers spread throughout up to 6 cabins.
Q. How long are your camps?
A. We are pleased to offer weekend camps that can be a fantastic introduction to camp and staying away from home. Special Friends camp and Gr. 1-3 camp are one night and the rest are two nights. Campers stay overnight in cabins. We do not offer a day camp program, unfortunately.
Q. What are some typical camp activities at Barnabas?
A. Typical camp activities include group games, crafts, campfire (including music and teaching about Jesus), canoeing and swimming at Otter Creek, visiting an animal rescue farm, nature hikes, a wagon ride, cabin time and a variety of free time fun activities.
Q. Is there a list of what campers should bring to camp?
A. There is a suggested packing list available at the bottom of this page.
Q. What if my child leaves something at camp?
A. All lost and found will be left laying out in the dining shelter. Feel free to drive back to the camp anytime to take a look!
