Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How do I register my child for camp?
A. Go to the ‘Camp Registration’ page, which will take you to our registration form.  Fill out the online registration form to fill out for each child. Alternatively, download and print a paper registration form, mailing a form for each child to our registrar.   Use the    contact us form   if you need us to mail you a paper registration form.

Q. How do I pay for my child to go to camp?
A. When filling out the online registration form, you can choose to pay online through Stripe's payment processing or through cash or cheque. Whether registering online or through a hard copy form, we encourage you to pay ahead of the camp weekend, although paying upon arrival is an option.

Q. Is there assistance available to help with paying for camp?
A. Yes. We can provide confidential assistance with some or all of the fee.

Q. How does online registration work if I am registering campers going to different camps?
A. Fill out a separate registration form for each camper.

Q. Is there a registration deadline?
A. Yes. Registration closes 1 week before each camp.

Q. What grade does my child need to be in to qualify for camp?
A. Campers qualify for camp based on grades completed in June.

 Q. Can my child join more than one camp?
A. Yes, depending on the grade completed in June. There is an overlap grade between the camps, allowing campers to join two camps those years.

Q. Why do I need to bring my camper's Health Card to camp registration?
A. You need to provide your camper's Health Card at the camp registration desk  to confirm their date of birth and Health Card number.

Q. How many campers can be at each camp?
A. Each camp can have up to 44 campers spread throughout up to 6 cabins.

Q. How long are your camps?
A. We are pleased to offer weekend camps that can be a fantastic introduction to camp and staying away from home. Special Friends is not overnight, Gr. 1-3 camp is one night, and the rest are two nights.  Campers stay overnight in cabins.   We do not offer regular a day camp program, unfortunately.

Q. How long is Special Friends camp?
A. Special Friends camp is 2 full days of camp activities.   Registration opens on Saturday at 9:00am.  Day 1 starts at 9:30am and ends at 6:30pm.   Day 2 starts on Sunday at 9:00am and  ends at 1:30pm.

Q. What are some typical camp activities at Barnabas?
A. Typical camp activities include group games, crafts, campfire (including music and teaching about Jesus), canoeing and swimming at Otter Creek, visiting an animal rescue farm, nature hikes, a wagon ride, cabin time and a variety of free time fun activities.

Q. Is there a list of what campers should bring to camp?
A. There is a suggested packing list available at the bottom of this page.

Q. What if my child leaves something at camp?
A. All lost and found will be left laying out in the dining shelter. Feel free to drive back to the camp anytime to take a look!
